Practicalities

Accomodation

There are many small hotels on the main road. Simply walk up the hill from the bus station until you find one you like. We were lazy, however, and picked the one directly opposite the bus station, securing a very large (but empty) room with two single beds and a private bathroom for 60元.

Communications

An internet cafe can be found at the top of town on the second-floor of a building facing the T-junction (2元/hour).

Getting In & Out

Bus

Unless you're hiking, hitching or cycling, Weixi Bus Station is your only way in and out of town. Quite unlike the rest of China, for no apparent reason tickets seem to consistently sell out well before buses leave for larger towns. Perhaps only a temporary shortage of vehicles, though we recommend you consider buying yours a day early.
